The Anual Uniform
Units Camping 2012 has been held at the school area of SK Pengalat Kecil, Papar
recently. About 76 students from this
school involved in this year camping together with 22 teachers and facilitators
from our school. The school’s four uniformed bodies involved were the Boy & Girl Scouts, Red Crescent
Unit, “Pergerakan Puteri Islam Malaysia” unit and “Tunas Kadet Remaja Sekolah” (Malaysia School Youth Cadet Corps) unit.
The aim of this activity was to expose the students to the
challenges of life in the outdoor spaces.
Once in a while, the pupils need to be brought out to enjoy the natural
environment after tiring hours studying in the class. At the same time, it
helps to build up their independence. The Ministry of Education also encouraged
schools to hold camps as a means to unite students. Camping is also a good
activity for pupils as it helps to improve discipline.
The 2-day 1-night camping activities this year was as
usual. The activities included orientation night, ice breaking, morning exercises, challenge run, food jungle
preparation, group presentation and others.
